With a focus on creating pattern, working with recyclables, and learning some new cutting skills, we began a project to make decorative birdhouses.
Lainey was delighted to think only about birds while designing her house. All her details were purposeful and centered around the birds who would live in the house. She made a worm cook book, “All they think about is worms worms worms.” and windows into the house showing scenes inside, “Every night they put their eggs in beds, tuck them in, put diapers on them, and guess what they do? They pretend that the baby is talking to them! It’s going to be very funny.”
M made an especially large house, with a large hole for a LARGE bird. A condor, he said.
H, on the other hand, made a very tiny house, with a tiny hole, and a very very tiny bird!
