On our first day of camp, we all got so excited about making boats. We spend hours fixing up all the little details on our mini ships. There were masts, rudders, crow's nests, flags, oars, cannons, telescopes, sails, steering wheels, treasure, planks, maidens in distress, pirates, and crew… We had to figure out how to make out boats balance, catch wind, and stay afloat. We floated them down at Telegraph Bay, and then made major repairs and brand new fleets and sailed again in Cadboro Bay the next day. And we can now think of ourselves as experienced naval engineers!
